Learn More about Lavandula x intermedia (Lavender)
Lavandula × intermedia is a natural hybrid between:
Lavandula angustifolia (English lavender) – prized for fragrance and oil quality
Lavandula latifolia (spike lavender) – known for high camphor content and larger size
This hybrid combines traits of both parent species, making it widely cultivated for ornamental, aromatic, and commercial uses.
Lavandula × intermedia is a vigorous, aromatic, and highly productive lavender hybrid widely used in landscaping and industry. It offers long bloom spikes, strong fragrance, and excellent heat tolerance, making it a favorite in commercial fields and ornamental gardens alike. While its essential oil is less delicate than true lavender, its high yield and versatility make it extremely valuable.
